FAQ / Capabilities

Could SYLVIA help restore the 1952 Lunar Triumph photographs?

The surviving negatives — approximately twelve partially fogged frames recovered after re-entry — are held in climate-controlled archives at the Sprodj Atomic Research Centre. SYLVIA's visual capabilities could theoretically interpolate missing data from the damaged emulsion.

However, current monochrome output resolution remains unsuitable for archival-grade restoration. The Royal Commission for Historical Authenticity has advised postponing any reconstruction effort until SYLVIA's visual fidelity reaches a standard "befitting the dignity of a national triumph." The Commission maintains that "what cannot be rendered with excellence should not be rendered at all."
