What is SYLVIA's development philosophy?

SYLVIA represents what its developers call a "fourth path" in AI development — distinct from the American model (private capital appropriation), the Chinese approach (imitation-driven, vertical control), and the European framework (precautionary regulation). The Syldavian approach emphasises structured heritage, applied computational ethics, and domain-specific excellence over general-purpose scale. Development is led by the Royal Centre for Lexical Processing in collaboration with the Faculty of Applied Philosophy and Computational Ethics at the University of Dobryn.
